Mary Foy CNZM

Mary belongs to a family who arrived in Aotearoa in 1838 and is a member of Nga Whaea Atawhai o Aotearoa Sisters of Mercy New Zealand. She currently resides in Ranui, Waitakere, and is passionate about the wellbeing of rangatahi and whanau. Mary also endeavours to live and work in ways that benefit Papatuanuku (Mother Earth) and all Earth communities. While she has a background as a secondary school teacher, for over twenty years Mary has been engaged in community work among homeless families at Monte Cecilia Housing Trust, currently as Chair, and at Te Ukaipo with rangatahi considered to be at risk. In both of these organisations she has been one of the founding staff members with Sisters of Mercy and others. Mary believes that the Earth's resources are to be shared equitably and within Earth's capacity for regeneration.
