Sustainable Ranui/Swanson

As part of the wider Waitakere communities, Sustainable Ranui Swanson is a program designed to raise awareness of how the way we live effects the environment around us.  The work is supported by Watercare and aims to reduce water demand at the household level.

Advice and incentives are offered to generate community action around four core themes of water, energy, waste and transport that enable households within the target area to reduce their environmental impacts, save money and connect at the community level.

This is achieved through a collaborative relationship with Ecomatters Environment Trust, who provides a free household sustainability audit to participating households and with other local organisations such as the Ranui Community House to initiate community education discussions and workshops that enable participants to take further action on the four key themes.
