April is of Ngati Kahu, Nga Puhi and Ngati Kahungunu descent. She has three beautiful sons, and her role at Te Ukaipo is as the Kai Kokiri "Initiator/Manager". The mission statement of Te Ukaipo is April's drive, enhancing taiohi and families in needy situations is her commitment. April's passion is for young people from all diversities in life. Her purpose behind this kaupapa is to have an awareness and understanding of today's society within cultural changes....

Joanne is from Otaki. Her iwi is Ngati Raukawa and her hapu is Ngati Kapumanawawhiti. She has worked in administration roles over the past 10 years. Joanne thrives on challenges and creating systems within an office / management environment. Having a diverse role allows Joanne to utilise her skills productively and efficiently. Working with Te Ukaipo is a blessing to Joanne because it enables her to engage with local communities and support her colleagues in the protection of Papatuanuku....

Karena lives in close proximity to the Waitemata Harbour which she loves and acknowledges as having enriched her and her families lives on a daily basis. Thus she is very aware of the changing health of this body of water....
